Provides invisible protection for fabrics against water, dirt and stains

James Fibre Protector Eco makes textile materials water- and dirt-repellent without visibly altering their appearance or colour. The protective layer adheres to the fibres, making it less likely for liquids and dirt to be absorbed into the material.

The fibre protector is suitable for various types of fabric, such as rugs, carpets and upholstery fabrics, as well as for pushchairs, car seats, Maxi-Cosi seats and other fabric coverings.

The product is odourless, UV-stable and free from fluorocarbons and hazardous substances. The surface can continue to breathe, and it is still possible to clean it or remove stains using other James products. Ideal for providing preventative protection for delicate or new materials against everyday wear and tear.

Use James Fibre Protector Eco when you want to protect textiles, upholstery or (artificial) leather as a preventative measure against dirt and moisture. This is particularly useful for new furniture, a new rug, carpet, dining chairs, shoes, curtains, outdoor cushions or upholstery in a car, caravan or boat.

Extra protection is also recommended for delicate fabrics such as viscose, silk, bamboo, nettle and cotton. These materials may be susceptible to moisture, dirt or stains. By treating them beforehand, you give yourself more time to remove spills or stains before they soak deep into the fibres.

When should you use the James Fibre Protector Eco?

Use James Fibre Protector Eco immediately after purchasing new furniture, carpets, rugs, shoes or other textile items that you want to keep looking good for longer. Even after thorough cleaning, it is advisable to reapply protection, as previous protection may have been reduced by use or cleaning.

The product is suitable for areas that are more prone to spills or dirt, such as dining chairs, sofas, children’s bedrooms, areas where pets spend time, car interiors and outdoor cushions. Have you noticed that water droplets no longer sit on the material but are quickly absorbed? Then it’s time to repeat the treatment.

How do you use James Fibre Protector Eco?

Always use James Fibre Protector Eco on new or cleaned fabric. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before you start. First, check on an inconspicuous area to see if the material is colour-fast and resistant to damage.

Spray the product evenly over the material from a distance of approximately 25 cm. Work in smooth, even strokes to ensure the protective coating is evenly distributed. Then leave the material to dry thoroughly. You can start using the treated material again after 12 hours. It will be fully load-bearing after 24 hours. Repeat the treatment annually, after cleaning, or as soon as water droplets are absorbed into the material within 5 seconds.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find the most frequently asked questions. Is yours not on the list? That gives us a good reason to get in touch with one another. Our customer service team will be happy to help you.

Will the James Fibre Protector Eco make my fabric completely stain-free?

No, the fibre protector does not make the fabric completely stain-free. If you spill something and the dirt or moisture is not removed, a stain may still form. However, the treatment does ensure that liquids and dirt are less likely to be absorbed into the fibres. This gives you more time to mop up and remove any spills or dirt. If you do this straight away, the material will stay looking good for longer and your home will be easier to keep clean.

It is best to remove any stains first and allow the material to dry thoroughly. You can then apply James Fibre Protector Eco to protect the material once again.

James Fibre Protector Eco has been developed to provide invisible protection. However, we always recommend testing the product on an inconspicuous area first, particularly with sensitive or unfamiliar materials.

Drop a few drops of water onto the material. If the droplets remain, the protection is still active. If they absorb quickly, it’s time to reapply.

Yes, it is still possible to clean it. To keep fabrics clean and fresh, you can use James Interior Cleaner. For stubborn stains, use James Stainwonder or James Stainspray.

This Eco is brilliant with our baby on the way! Better than that pile of rubbish on your sofa with a little one.

Because we have three dogs and my partner has a contact allergy, we opted for the James Fibre Protector Eco. To be on the safe side, we treated the new bench twice; after the first treatment, it was already absorbing hardly any moisture at all, but we wanted extra protection. The product is odourless, which, alongside the fact that it is environmentally friendly, pet-friendly and gentle on the skin, is a real bonus

We had our new sofa treated straight away, before it was actually put into use. You can’t see or smell the product at all, but spilled drinks stay right on the fabric. It does give you a nice feeling having children in the house.

Very easy to apply. I used it to treat our fabric dining chairs and was actually surprised that, afterwards, you can’t tell at all that anything’s been applied.

Bought to go with our new light-coloured sofa. I particularly like the fact that the product is odourless. The fabric feels exactly the same after treatment.

With two small children, I thought it would be wise to protect the sofa properly beforehand. We’ve already spilt a drink once, but luckily we were able to mop it up very easily.

We treated our new rug with it. Filling it up takes a little while, but apart from that it’s very straightforward. It’s great that dirt and moisture are less likely to be absorbed into the fibres.

I’ve treated both the sofa and our dining chairs. No chemical odour and no visible film on the fabric. Exactly what I was looking for.

Used for the upholstery in our car. Especially when there are children in the back, a bit of extra protection is no luxury. The product dried nicely and was no longer visible afterwards.

Our light-coloured fabric chairs were brand new, and I wanted to keep them that way. The Eco fibre protector has been fitted and they still look exactly the same. I’ve already noticed that moisture is absorbed much more slowly.
